The Summit Appliance DW2435SSADA is a good buy for one narrow case and a questionable one for everyone else. It is a real 32-inch-tall dishwasher built for kitchens where a standard-height machine will not go: lowered counters, raised floors, and aging-in-place layouts. The box includes the item.

Its ADA height, front controls, stainless tub and built-in water softener set it apart in this class.

Where the DW2435SSADA shines

  • True 32-inch ADA height. The cabinet is 32 inches tall. The controls sit on the front panel with touch buttons, and both racks pull out from the front.
  • 12 place settings in a short body. The cabinet is 23.5 inches wide.
  • 49 dBA.
  • ENERGY STAR certified at 234 kWh a year.
  • A cord and plug already on the unit. The NEMA 5-15P plug means a dedicated outlet instead of a hardwired junction box.
  • An integrated water softener with a salt reservoir and a salt light.
  • Five cycles plus Rinse & Hold. InnerClean, Pots & Pans, Normal, Quick & Dry and QuickWash, with half load, extra rinse, extra drying, rapid, a 24-hour delay and a child lock.
  • Stainless steel tub and door, a digital display and a program key printed on the panel.
  • Smart fold shelves on the top rack that hold tall glasses upright or fold down for more cups.

Where the DW2435SSADA comes up short

The Summit Appliance DW2435SSADA dries by condensation only: there is no heating element for drying and no fan. Plastic items and some dishes come out wet, and the manual itself tells you to leave the door cracked for about 15 minutes and unload the lower rack first. That is how the machine works, not a fault.

There is no third rack. The 12 place settings sit in two racks, and cutlery goes in a removable six-section basket.

The listed height is another practical point:

Summit's own description calls the height 32 1/8 inches while the specification table says 32.0 inches. Installation also asks for a 28-inch-high drain loop, removal of the disposal plug, and steam-protection foil stuck to the underside of the countertop; without that foil Summit warns of damage to the cabinet and counter.

The 32-inch height clears a lowered counter, but the 45.5-inch door swing needs clear floor in front of the machine, and the 22.38-inch depth has to fit the cabinet run with the water line behind it.

Water use per cycle starts at 1.20 gal on Rinse & Hold, and Pots & Pans uses 5.3 gal. Normal uses 2.59 to 5.86 gal, InnerClean 3.8 gal, Quick & Dry 3.12 gal and QuickWash 3.10 gal. Wash temperatures reach 160 F on InnerClean and 162 F on Pots & Pans, which rinses at 158 F over 128 minutes; Normal runs 110 to 153 minutes at 122 to 131 F, Quick & Dry takes 58 minutes and QuickWash 35.

The water softener ships set to level 1 (inactive).

How the water softener works

The softener is built into the machine and fed from a salt reservoir you fill with dishwasher salt, not table salt. A light on the panel tells you when to top it up. Left at the factory setting of level 1, the softener does nothing, so the first job after installation is to set the level to match your water hardness.

What buyers on Amazon report

Reviews on Amazon mention a latch or door failure and error codes.

The Summit Appliance DW2435SSADA solves a real fit problem and does it with genuine strengths: a true 32-inch ADA cabinet, 49 dBA, a cord and plug, and a water softener most US dishwashers do not have. Its limits are just as real: condensation drying, two racks, and latch and support reports worth knowing about.

Buy it if your opening is short or you need to plug it in.

Frequently asked questions

Fit, drying and the error codes are what decide whether this machine works in your kitchen, and each has a concrete answer.

Does the Summit Appliance DW2435SSADA come with what is needed for the water and power hookup?

The Summit Appliance DW2435SSADA arrives with a pre-installed cord and a NEMA 5-15P plug, so the machine needs a dedicated outlet rather than a hardwired junction box. A 3/8-inch OD copper or braided water supply line is not included, so that part has to be supplied at installation.

What problems do buyers on Amazon raise about the Summit Appliance DW2435SSADA?

Buyers on Amazon mention a latch or door failure and error codes. Treat these reports as unverified and check the machine carefully during the 1-year parts and labor warranty period.

Can the Summit Appliance DW2435SSADA run a smaller batch without a full long cycle?

A half-load setting on the Summit Appliance DW2435SSADA allows a smaller batch, and the QuickWash cycle is listed at 35 minutes for lighter jobs.

How many dishes does the Summit Appliance DW2435SSADA hold, and where does cutlery go?

The Summit Appliance DW2435SSADA is rated for 12 place settings split across two racks, with cutlery held in a removable six-section basket. There is no third rack, so utensils do not get a separate shallow tray.

Is the Summit Appliance DW2435SSADA a sensible choice if a standard-height dishwasher already fits my kitchen?

No. If a standard-height machine already fits, the Summit Appliance DW2435SSADA gives up capacity and drying performance for a height advantage you do not need. Its 12 place settings across two racks and condensation-only drying are the trade-offs, so a standard-height model is the better fit.
